History of Massage
Massage is probably as old as man himself as it is a natural reaction to rub or hold a painful or injured part of the body. From written evidence, it is known that the Chinese, Hindus, Japanese and Egyptians used massage, and there is Chinese literature dating back 5000 years. They believed in ‘Holistic’ therapy, including massage, exercise, martial arts and meditation and Greek writers have early records of how massage was an important part of medicine. In Rome, Galen, a famous physician, was an advocate of massage, believing it eliminated waste products from the body and relieved fatigue. In the 19th Century, Henrich Ling brought us Swedish Massage, the benefits of which, have been well recorded over time and have proved a natural method of healing the mind and body. |
Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage has been practised for over 1000 years and was originally developed by Indian woman to keep their hair healthy and strong. Head massage is part of an Indian barber’s treatment where they use a stimulating massage to refresh the scalp. Indian Head Massage is one of the fastest growing holistic therapies, offering treatment for stress relief, muscular tension, improved hair and scalp condition, working with pressure points on the face. In Europe, it has been extended to include the upper back, neck and shoulders, as well as the head and face. The Head Massage includes an optional scalp oil treatment that can improve the condition of the scalp and hair. |
Remedial Massage
This is a very special massage involving a posture analysis, trigger point massage and muscle energy techniques. I would recommend this treatment if you have muscular aches and pains or you have a recent muscular injury. The massage is a deep, specific massage. |
Emotional Freedom Technique
The Emotional Freedom Technique is based upon the principle that the cause of all negative emotions is involved with the body’s energy system. People don’t need to painfully relive memories for E. F. T. to help. The memories contribute to an unwanted emotion or response, but they are not the direct cause. This treatment is excellent for phobias |
Hopi Ear Candles
The Hopi Ear Candle Treatment derives its name from the Natue Tribe of Native Americans. They used the therapy to treat problems involving the ears, nose and the throat and despite the name, the ‘candles’ are actually hollow tubes, made from 100% beeswax, honey and other herbal extracts. The candles act like a form of chimney, which draws wax and other debris from the ear and the mild heat stimulates the blood and lymph. The treatment is extremely helpful in alleviating the symptoms of sinus pain, headaches and many other conditions, as well as the build up of ear wax. The Hopi Ear Candle Experience involves a Foot Massage, Eye Pack, Hopi Ear Candle Treatment and a Face Massage. You will leave ‘Floating on Air’ |

The Massage Treatments
The treatments involve a consultation, during which, the Client and I will discuss and record any relevant information regarding previous or existing injuries, medical conditions or other problems, including details of any medication recently or presently being prescribed. Occasionally, it may be necessary for me to obtain a referral from a Client’s Doctor or any other Practitioner from whom treatments are being received. If the treatment is for a massage, I will use a couch, designed for the purpose. If it is for an Indian Head Massage, involving the upper back, shoulders, neck, head and face, the Client sits comfortably in a chair. |
Massage Packages

Please don’t hesitate to ask if you would like to incorporate a range of massage techniques into a package, as I would prefer to offer ‘tailor-made’ treatments, unique to the individual, to ensure you always feel relaxed and “Totally Balanced”
